This is a must watch for everyone because this is a kind of movie that can motivate you your whole life! 

Ben Carson started from scratch and I really meant scratch. Him and his brother living with a single mother with no dad to take care of them. He had troubles with his temper and there was this one bad day, that he was really angry and he fought with his mother and nearly killed her with a hammer her mother was using to fix a broken window. But he prayed and prayed and in the end, he overcame his temper. 

He was certainly not intelligent in his class during 10th grade I guess, and all of his friends (were they even friends?) teased him and make fun of him saying that he's the dumbest in the world. From what I saw, it all began when he answered a simple question of his teacher in class about a rock and after that ,there's this new whole world is coming to him. Their mom made a rule about only choosing a particular programme on television that they only got to watch for thrice a week? to cut out them watching to much television. Ben and his brother also has to borrow 2 books from the library, read them and make a report about the book they read each week. 

Ben began to feel interested about knowledge and read and read and read, he also won a spelling competition! During graduation, he became the best academic achiever in his school!

I'm cutting the chase. you wanna know the whole story, you have to watch it for yourself. Don't want to be a spoiler here! Haha. 

I wanna quote the words he said during his interview for admission to Johns Hopkins Neurosurgery Department.

The question he was asked was: 

"Why did you decide to become a brain doctor?"

Ben Carson said:

"The brain. It's a miracle. Do you believe in miracles? Not a lot doctors do. There's not a lot faith among physicians. I mean we study reports, cut open bodies, it's all very tangible, solid. But the fact is, there's still so many things.. We just can't explain. I believe we're all capable of performing miracles, up here (brain). I believed we're all blessed with astonishing gifts and skills. Look at Handel. I mean, how can he compose something like the Messiah in only 3 weeks? This is the channel. The source, the inspiration for unbelievable accomplishments"

, also, what his mom always said to him

"You can do anything, anyone else can do, only you can do it better."

At last he became the most successful pediatric neurosurgeon on performing the first successful surgery of a craniopagus twins (The Rausch twins) and he even performed 5 successful ones after that.

My conclusion is, you just have to try hard and believe in yourself, and believe in Allah (the god Dr. Carson believes in is different, but it depends on yourself). You always got your family with you that's gonna be there no matter what's coming in your life, and you have to work hard! No success comes easy.
